Everyone remembers the movie Animal House for one great scene: "Toga!  Toga!  Toga!"  A staple of any raucous college party scene, the toga party is a great theme for reunions and graduations.  Easy to plan, easy to execute, and tons of fun for everyone involved, it's easy to see why the toga party is a perennial favorite of college kids everywhere.

Decoration & Music

The great thing about a toga party is that you don't have to decorate, unless you're motivated enough to hang up some Greek letters on a wall.  Be sure to hide anything fragile or valuable, and get ready to rock!  Good old fashioned rock and roll is the order of the day--just make sure you have to shout over it to hear each other.

Meal

Many would say that all you need for a toga party is beer.  These people are wrong, though: because you need beer and nachos.  If you want to have a more upscale toga party, you can drink wine, eat grapes and Greek food, and let the bacchanalia begin!  The great part about a toga party is you can always adjust the level of raucousness, and your food and beverage choices will be a good indicator of this.

Activities

Drinking, dancing, and being merry are the principle goals of a toga party.  Whether you're emulating the traditional Greek rites of Bacchus, or just the traditional fraternity favorite, a toga party is merriment without pretense.  Just make sure your guests have plenty to eat and drink--and plenty of places to sleep, should they get too drunk to drive home.
